Ruby’s Virtual Receptionists Race for the Cure!

Twenty-five of Ruby® Receptionists’ finest virtual receptionists gathered with thousands of other Oregonians in downtown Portland yesterday to support a great cause! It was the 6th year our virtual receptionists have come out to walk in support of the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure. The funds we raised this year will help support women all over the state of Oregon to get access to breast cancer education, mammograms, and treatment and support for families and survivors.

The race has special meaning to Ruby because as a woman-owned business with a largely female staff, we are aware of the great risks and impacts of breast cancer in our community. One Ruby in particular was walking in memory of her cousin; Team Captain Jami R. and her daughter Brooklynn walked in the race to honor the memory of Jami’s cousin Carol, who lost her fight with breast cancer just a few months ago. The race was a great source of strength for Jami who said she was “just so inspired and proud to walk in honor and hope rather than in sadness.” We got the impression that there were many people there who felt the same way! It was an inspiring day for all of us to be reminded that there is hope, and we are so happy to be part of raising awareness and funds for this great cause!
