Our team of virtual receptionists is great at cheerful, professional phone answering and many of us also have a soft spot for animals (as you might have noticed when we walked in the Doggie Dash benefit!), so we were delighted to be able to lend our skills to help the Oregon Humane Society with their annual telethon this year! On Sunday, eight of Ruby® Receptionists’ finest (and two honorary Ruby pooches, Ellie and Bernie) volunteered to take calls at the OHS phone bank.
This year, our phone answering skills helped the Oregon Humane Society take donations of over $328,000 — $8,000 over the goal! Those donations will help OHS provide financial support for rescuing abused and neglected animals, finding homes for abandoned pets, and preventing animal cruelty through education and advocacy. The telethon was also instrumental in inspiring over 70 adoptions at the shelter!
Suzi, Eve, Katie, Stephanie C, Jewel, and I are proud to support OHS!
My dog, Ellie, approves of our volunteering!
We were extremely proud to be involved and help this worthy cause! To learn more about the Humane Society, please visit their website!
On Saturday, our team of top-notch virtual receptionists celebrated the summer in true Ruby® style and set sail for nautical party down Portland’s Willamette River. Our team commits each day to the Ruby mission of making people’s days brighter, and this was our chance to give back to them and celebrate those efforts! We had a fabulous evening full of smiles, laughter, and beautiful views of our beloved city. Check out the photos:
Next Thursday, Ruby® Receptionists is proud to be sponsoring a special screening of Academy Award® nominated director Roko Belic’s new film HAPPY – and you’re invited! Quite a few Rubys will be in attendance, and if you’re in the Portland area, we would love for you to come with us, on the house!
As you may have guessed, the film focuses on one of our favorite Core Values — happiness!
Check out the trailer:
The free screening will be at the Clinton Street Theater – 2522 SE Clinton St – next Thursday, August 11th, at 7:00pm. In order to get on the list, simply email firstname.lastname@example.org and tell us how many people will be attending with you. Space is limited, so claim your seat soon!
Our virtual receptionist team is looking forward to connecting with our clients, coworkers, vendors, and friends, and sharing this inspiring movie with you. Hope to see you there!
It’s that time again! Time for our virtual receptionists to step out of the office and onto the field for our favorite summer pastime — kickball! This will be the third year in a row that the Ruby Death Squad has participated in the Underdog Sports tournament. The team has been a fantasic way for us to Create Community and build teamwork, and it also adds a real “kick” to our wellness campaign.
Last night, our virtual receptionists and friends opened the season at Alberta Park. The Rubys gave a great fight with some death-defying base-slides and leaping catches (ok, maybe not DEATH defying…), but our rival team pulled ahead for a win with some great catches. Final score: 2 – 5. We still have eight more games this season, so they haven’t heard the last of us!
If you’re in the Portland area and would like to come cheer with us and join the fun, our schedule will be posted here. We would love to see you there!
Today, our hardworking virtual receptionists are celebrating our third annual Soup Day! Soup Day is a Ruby® Receptionists tradition of sorts. Three years ago, on a particularly rainy January day, a few generous team members decided to foster a little happiness in our office by bringing in a few crockpots of soup to share…little did they know, that little generosity would spark an office tradition. The first improptu Soup Day was such a hit, we have made it an annual tradition that our team of virtual receptionists look forward to all year!
Our administrative, management, and support staff picks a day in January to surprise our phone answering pros with a buffet of soups to warm their days. It’s a fabulously easy event to plan, and costs next to nothing for the company, but the impact is huge! Try it in your office – I promise it will put a smile on your employees’ faces! To get you started, here is Ruby’s Receptionist Services Director Jewel Miller’s recipe for a delicious vegan butternut squash soup (click for a larger view):
