Just a friendly reminder, Ruby will be closed tomorrow, November 22nd, in honor of the holiday, and our Client Services department will be closed on Friday the 23rd. However, our virtual receptionist team will be here on Friday, cheerfully answering your calls live starting at 5:00am Pacific Time!

Ruby Takes #35 Spot on “100 Best Green Companies” List!

Yesterday, several Rubys, including our Green Team, took the local streetcar down to the Portland Art Museum to attend Oregon Business magazine’s annual “100 Best Green Companies to Work for in Oregon” luncheon. We were thrilled that our virtual receptionist service made the list for the second year in a row, and we’re honored that Ruby® placed #35 on this year’s list!

The event was a great way to inspire our team, and anecdotes from top 10 winners and the keynote speaker, Dennis Wilde with Gerding Edlen Development, sparked new ideas about what we can do next to make our company even more sustainable. Many of their stories included mentions of how their receptionists took going green to new levels. It made me think, with all of our virtual receptionists, who knows where we can go from here?!

We’d also like to give a shout out to Ater Wynne, our upstairs neighbor in the LEED certified Lovejoy building, and our neighbor on the “Green” list, coming in at #34! Congratulations as well to Sokol Blosser Winery who earned the #5 spot on the list and whom we met on the “100 Best Companies to Work For” ski trip!

Thank you to all of our virtual receptionists and staff for all your hard work in making Ruby green! Whether it’s printing double-sided, recycling, participating in a green clothing swap, taking advantage of our Alternative Transportation program, or making DIY notepads, we appreciate all of your green efforts!

Ruby’s Virtual Receptionists Move into The Lovejoy!

Ruby® Receptionists’ virtual receptionist team is cheerfully answering phones from a whole new place: The Lovejoy Building! We’ve been looking forward to moving in ever since Mike Nye, Principal with Capacity Capital Group, skillfully negotiated the deal last year. Though the Lovejoy Building is only steps away from our old studio, the new space offers even more for our virtual receptionists to smile about. 

This LEED certified building is going to be great for facilitating Creating Community, with a larger break room where we can get together at lunch. It also has fantastic views of Portland, Oregon’s Pearl District; in fact, our virtual receptionists can see the iconic Fremont Bridge from their picture windows! Along with the awesome aesthetics, the new building has redundant fiber, which will give our virtual reception service even more reliability and stability. The building also offers a number of green features which we’ll explore in an upcoming post. 

Everyone is giddy with excitement over our new digs, and we’re looking forward to seeing how this new space further fosters happiness among our virtual receptionists, and in turn, each caller and client they speak with. Ruby Named One of the “100 Fastest Growing Private Companies!” for Fourth Year!

It’s been quite an exciting year for Ruby® so far — and it’s only May! We’ve added many new features to our top-notch virtual receptionist service, been named one of the “100 Best Companies to Work For,” and one of the “100 Best Green Companies to Work For,” just to name a few. To add to the good times, we are excited to announce that we’ve once again made Portland Business Journal‘s list of “100 Fastest Growing Private Companies!”

This is our fourth straight year making the list, and we’d like to extend a huge thank you to all of our fabulous clients, vendors, and employees for making this possible! It’s because of you that we’re able to provide outstanding service to even more businesses and help them grow in turn!

Ruby’s New Platform is Launching with a Bang!

Ruby® Receptionists is abuzz with excitement over the approaching launch of our new platform! We’re thrilled to announce that we’ll go live on the new communications platform with complimentary service Sunday, May 1st! On this special occasion, our cheerful virtual receptionists will be answering calls free of charge from 10:00am to 3:00pm Pacific Time!

We worked with KRP Communications to choose Interactive Intelligence‘s Customer Interaction Center software for our new platform, and local programmers/wizards at CSG Professional Services did a fantastic job customizing the software so as to best enhance our unique virtual receptionist service. With this new platform we’ll be able to offer even more features and make our friendly, professional service even better!

What can you expect with the new system? We’ll provide the same personalized service but with even more information for you! Every message will include supplemental details, along with a number of other cool additions. Thanks to Portland-based software company Sembit, the Ruby iPhone app will be expanded as will the newly mobile friendly Member Services Area! Ruby clients will also be able to update their Whereabouts by logging onto the Member Services Area from their computers or smartphones – Droid and Blackberry users rejoice!

If you’re a current client, you’ve already received an email listing all of the specifics on the handy new features, and over the next few weeks, we’ll be going through each one with examples and screenshots right here on the Ruby blog.
