Since its inception in 2003, Ruby’s innovative virtual receptionist service has been turning heads in the press.
Ruby Receptionists Launches Paid Sabbatical Program for its Virtual Receptionists
To further support our unique Core Values, we are incredibly excited to launch a new paid sabbatical program at Ruby Receptionists: the “Five at Five!” For every five years at Ruby, our virtual receptionists and supporting staff members will receive five weeks paid time off to explore our Core Values and apply them to a dream that they might not otherwise have had the opportunity to realize. To help them succeed Ruby will also provide $1,000 grants and individual coaching with positive psychology experts Dr. Robert Biswas-Diener and Positive Acorn. We’re excited to see what each of our bright virtual receptionists will do with her Five at Five!
Ruby Welcomes Two New Directors to our Leadership Team
Ruby is proud to announce two new additions to our Leadership Team: Kevin Gillam, Director of Marketing, and Paddy McCaffrey-Allen, Director of Human Resources. Kevin was previously our Business Development Ambassador in charge of fostering partnerships, and he brings more than 20 years of sales and marketing experience to his new role as Director of Marketing. Paddy was one of Ruby’s first employees and has thrived in various roles in the human resources field for over a decade, including Director of Human Resources at a Portland-based creative agency. We’re excited to welcome them to Ruby’s Leadership Team!

Oregon Business magazine announced that for the third year in a row, Ruby Receptionists has made its list of the “100 Best Companies to Work For in Oregon!” Since Fostering Happiness is one of our Core Values, this is an award especially dear to our hearts, and we were thrilled to make #2 in the medium-sized category in 2011. Our virtual receptionist team is looking forward to attending the annual event next March and finding out where we rank!

Ruby Launches Innovative New Operating Platform
Working with CSG Professional Services, Ruby has designed and implemented a one-of-a-kind proprietary operating platform, the Ruby Operating System, or ROS for short. We also partnered with KRP Communications to select Interactive Intelligence‘s Customer Interation Center (CIC) communications software suite and worked with Sembit to enhance our iPhone app and make our Member Services area mobile-friendly and add additional features. With our innovative new communications platform, our virtual receptionists will be able to offer more personalized and feature-rich service than ever before!
Ruby to Launch New Communications Platform on May 1st, 2011!
We are thrilled to be launching our customized communications platform on May 1st! We worked with KRP Communications to select Interactive Intelligence‘s Customer Interaction Center software, and the brilliant programmers at CSG Professional Services worked diligently to customize it to best enhance Ruby’s unique virtual receptionist service. With this flexible new platform, we’ll be able to offer even more features to clients. We partnered with software company Sembit to update our handy iPhone app and to develop an expanded, newly mobile-friendly Member Services Area where, among other things, Droid and Blackberry users may easily update their whereabouts on the fly. We’re looking forward to seeing how all these new features make our clients’ lives easier!
Ruby Featured in The Oregonian in Honor of Earth Day
We at Ruby are excited to be featured in The Oregonian for our virtual receptionist service’s green business practices! The Oregonian profiled us in honor of Earth Day, especially noting the dedication to the small things we do every day that make a big difference in the environment. Thank you to all at Ruby who take advantage of our Alternative Transportation program, use reusable dishware, recycle, and do all the things that make us one of the “100 Best Green Companies to Work For!”
Ruby Earns Spot on Oregon Business’ “100 Best Green Companies to Work For” List for 2011!
Ruby® Receptionists has been named one of Oregon Business magazine’s “100 Best Green Companies to Work For in Oregon” for the second consecutive year! Last year we were proud to make it to #19 on the list. Being sustainable is an important part of the Ruby culture, and we’re thankful to our virtual receptionists and staff for jumping in with both feet. Whether they’re printing double-sided, making DIY notepads, or volunteering on Ruby’s Green Team, we appreciate their hard work in keeping Ruby green! We look forward to learning where we rank this year at the “100 Best Green Companies” luncheon in May!
Ruby Receptionists Named #2 Best Medium-Sized Company to Work For in Oregon!
Oregon Business magazine announced last night that Ruby won #2 “Best Company to Work for in Oregon!” Almost 40 virtual receptionists and other staff members attended the event and used their normally soft, pleasant phone voices to cheer resoundingly when our name was called. Our second year making the list, this award is particularly meaningful to us because it’s based on surveys by employees themselves. We’d like to thank all of our employees for taking our Core Values to heart and making Ruby such a wonderful community! Special thanks also go out to the amazing clients we answer phones for — it’s a joy to be able to help so many businesses every day!
